I may have redone the intro page design in 2 days, but it was certainly a pain in the arse. I ended up using Flash because the methods for doing a fading slideshow in Javascript are all terrible ideas in the event that you have a massive number of images or low bandwidth. I tried many of them and some worked after a lot of annoying and some just wouldn't work. But in the end I went with Flash. This flash version streams the imagery and caches it. Flash was also a pain in the ass but now I have something that works fine. No scripts were written from scratch, but I did modify existing scripts to fit my site's structure. The site is designed to be portable, so at any time I can move to another host by changing a few variables and re-uploading all the files.
If you don't have flash (for some reason), you won't get a slideshow, but you'll get the default Xenouniverse splash.
I also intend to enhance the rest of the site. No major changes, just some visual tweaks for impact and possible UI improvements and backend optimizations. I also intent do add some more recent stills to the gallery.
Now that I'm done with a recent project, I'll be looking for a job again. On Monday I'm calling back a place that may or may not have any work for me at the moment. After that, if the don't have any work- well...job hunting is going to be 'fun'.
I'll also be working on the script for my next short film. This will be my last film at RIT.
